Head of Christian Life and Mission

Grateful!

Dear Christway College - Wyndham community,

Thank you for welcoming me so warmly into the role of Head of Christian Life and Mission this year. The first term in a new community is always a bit of a whirlwind however I am grateful for the support, encouragement, and engagement I’ve received from the Wyndham students and staff – thank you. 

Special thanks to Head of Campus Ms Kerrie Neophytou, Head of Primary Miss Courtney Hutton and Head of Secondary Mr Steve Sobey. Working across both Kingston and Wyndham campuses, my role encompasses oversight of chaplaincy, chapel services, Christian Life, missions, service, prayer and more.

Since the start of the year, it has been a privilege to serve the Christway College- Wyndham CCW community facilitating primary and secondary chapel services, overseeing Christian Life classes and curriculum and teaching Years 8 and 9. We’ve had some incredible chapels together as we’ve launched secondary (Year 7-9) chapel and explored the Gospel of John and the Person of Jesus during both our Prep-2 and Year 3-6 chapels. I’m grateful for how students are engaging during chapels and am grateful for the support of parents who have attended as well.

Practicing gratitude is one of my core values, and something the Bible teaches us to do on a regular basis. Two very meaningful reminders from Scripture are:

• “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
• “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” (Philippians 4:6)

I love how God through the Apostle Paul exhorts us to be thankful in all circumstances, to pray about everything and thank Him for all He has done. Practicing this depth of gratitude daily changes our perspective and shifts our attitude, and as we pray God is faithful to respond and move.

There are many exciting ventures in the works including the first chaplain for CCW, missions trips (from 2025), discipleship programs, prayer initiatives and more.
