ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

Milgate Primary School would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land of the Wurundjeri People, and we would like to pay our respects to the elders both past and present. Staff, students and the school community understand that we thrive, learn and live on Wurundjeri Country and we stand with all cultures united as one.

YEAR 5 MAKER'S MARKET

For our How we organise ourselves unit of inquiry, the Year 5 Maker’s Market Day will be held on Thursday 14 December. Prices will vary from $1-$10 for items.

All proceeds will be donated to SisterWorks, a not-for-profit organisation that empowers refugee women into employment. Thank you for your support, we are looking forward to a great Market Day.

TRANSITION MORNING COMING UP

On Monday 18th December we will be having our transition morning. This is where the students will find out their teachers for next year and meet their new classmates. The students will be in their new classes for 45 minutes where they will spend time getting to know each other.

CANTEEN

The canteen will be closed next Friday 15th December. It is celebration day and most year levels are having a special day. The last day of trading for the canteen this year will be December 19th.

PARENT HELPERS MORNING TEA | 12th DECEMBER 10.45 am - 11. 30 am

All parents/carers who have volunteered their time in any way at Milgate this year are invited to a morning tea put on by the staff of Milgate. Please come along so we can say thank you for your support this year. The morning tea will be held in the staffroom.

TEACHER PRESENCE

Wondering what present to give your child’s teacher? Want an alternative to See if they have signed up for ‘Teacher Presence’ where you can donate to a charity on their behalf

Milgate would like to support some of our teachers again this year who have chosen to register with Teacher Presence. For those new to Milgate, Teacher Presence is an organisation that provides an alternative to the traditional end-of-year gift-giving.

It allows a teacher to nominate one of four charities supported by this organisation.

Families then have the opportunity to donate to their teacher’s chosen charity, in place of the optional present they may have otherwise purchased.

If you’re interested, we would encourage you to check the website to see if your child’s teacher has registered.  https://www.teacherpresence.org/. Please note that participation is completely voluntary, so you may or may not find your teacher’s name on the list – we just wanted to make you aware that some of our staff are choosing to be involved. You can find further information in the attached document.
