Wildflower Planting

Last week's wildflower planting session was a heartwarming community event, made possible by the enthusiastic support of children and families who joined hands to contribute to the beautification of our local environment. The vibrant atmosphere was filled with the laughter and excitement of young ones as they eagerly participated in planting the donated wildflower tube stock provided by the generous contribution of Brimbank Council.

Families demonstrated a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, fostering a sense of connection to nature among the community members. The event not only served as a platform for hands-on learning about the importance of preserving local biodiversity but also strengthened the bonds within the neighbourhood. As these wildflowers take root and flourish, they symbolise the collective effort of a community dedicated to nurturing the natural world for future generations.

More Planting - Friends of Kororoit Creek

The spirit of community blossomed brightly recently as we witnessed the dedicated efforts of some extraordinary volunteers in our very own Nugal Garden. Richard, the father of Tom and John, alongside his friend Thao from Friends of Kororoit Creek, graciously dedicated their morning to plant seeds of positive change in our cherished green space.

These green thumbs, fuelled by a passion for environmental stewardship, worked tirelessly to support ongoing plantings and fill in areas where nature called for a little extra love. Their commitment to the well-being of Nugal Garden not only enhances the beauty of our community space but also contributes to the overall health of our local ecosystem.

Volunteering one's time is a selfless act that speaks volumes about the character of individuals, and Richard and Thao exemplify the true meaning of community spirit. Their hands-on involvement not only demonstrates a commitment to the environment but also sets a heartening example for the younger generation.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Richard and Thao for their invaluable contribution. Their dedication has not only enriched the soil of Nugal Garden but has also sown seeds of inspiration within our community. The thriving beauty of our garden stands as a living testament to the positive impact that individuals can make when they come together for a common cause.

Let's join hands in expressing our heartfelt thanks to these volunteers who have cultivated more than just plants — they've cultivated a sense of shared responsibility and pride in our community.

Winners! Victorian School Garden Awards

We are thrilled to share some exciting news that has sprouted from our very own school — the prestigious Victorian School Garden Award for 'Greatest Improvement of School's Green Space' will now be proudly displayed on our wall. This accolade is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaborative spirit that defines our school community.

Our journey towards this achievement began with a vision—to transform our school grounds into a vibrant and sustainable haven for both education and enjoyment. Over the past year, students, volunteers, family members, and staff joined forces, and together, we cultivated something truly extraordinary.

The garden project was an initiative that transcended the confines of textbooks and classrooms. It was a hands-on learning experience, where students not only planted seeds but also watched as their efforts blossomed into a thriving ecosystem of flora and fauna. The project seamlessly integrated into various aspects of our curriculum, providing students with invaluable lessons in biology, ecology, and environmental science.

The secret behind our success lies in the synergy between our students and the dedicated team of volunteers, family members, and staff who rolled up their sleeves to turn the vision into reality. Gardening workshops, tree-planting sessions, and educational programs were just a few of the collaborative efforts that made our green space truly exceptional.

In addition to the aesthetic transformation, our garden has become a living laboratory, offering students a unique opportunity to engage with nature, fostering a deep sense of environmental stewardship. The garden now serves as an outdoor classroom, providing a dynamic and inspiring setting for learning beyond the traditional walls of the school.

Our garden not only promotes biodiversity but also serves as a place for relaxation and reflection. It has become a hub for community events, where families gather for picnics, and volunteers share their knowledge with the broader community.

Receiving the Victorian School Garden Award is not just a recognition of our green space but a celebration of our collective commitment to sustainability, education, and community building. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this achievement, whether through physical labor, expertise, or unwavering support.

As we bask in the glory of this award, let us continue to nurture and grow our green space, fostering a sense of pride and ownership among our students and community members. Together, we have proven that when a community comes together with a shared vision, incredible things can bloom.

Congratulations to each and every one of you who played a role in this success. Here's to the continued growth and prosperity of our beloved Nugal garden!
