What a big finish to an amazing year! In the last weeks we have had awards, graduation, the traditional Foundation Nativity and end of year class celebrations. Congratulations to all of our community for their achievements.

I thank our POTS family and the other volunteers who have contributed through the year on camps, in classrooms, at the canteen, and other events. Early in 2024 we will hold a morning tea where we will invite our 2023 volunteers to thank them and meet potential 2024 volunteers so they can share the story of how wonderful it is to volunteer at Living Waters and how easy it can be to volunteer, such as picking up supplies or changing readers for 10 minutes in the morning.

They say people come into your life for a reason or a season, and as the year comes to an end, we say goodbye to some very important people.

Ms White has over 20 years' service to Living Waters and has contributed at every level of the school from curriculum to classroom. We will miss her incredible knowledge of curriculum and school traditions and families. The generations of children whom she has taught have benefited from her guidance and grace.

Miss Nertney completed her time with us earlier this term. With the drop in numbers as people leave town, we were no longer eligible for a deputy principal. Miss Nertney has had a huge impact on our community across multiple areas. Her event management skills are second to none and she has supported POTS to accomplish several events this year. Miss Nertney worked tirelessly to improve outcomes for additional needs children and as a school we have benefited from her processes and protocols. She will be missed.

Mr T has been a calm presence but a dynamo at the same time. He has a habit of being in the right place at the right time and we wish him well in his studies.

Miss Dettmann blessed us with her presence and was a true gift when she popped up Mary Poppins style mid-year to become our Year 5 teacher. She has cultivated amazing relationships, and this resonates daily. We wish her well in Darwin.

Mr A also leaves us to return home to South Australia. Mr A is an events whiz - he is always volunteering. His special gift this year has been facilitating the relationships with Old Timers. The joy for children and residents has been overwhelming.

We thank our Student Leaders for 2023 and applaud them for their contributions to our school. We are ready to hand on the baton. I thank Mrs Clark and Miss Moloney for all the work they did with Year 5 to prepare them for their leadership speeches and the coaching of their emerging leadership skills.

Our students have once again shown great academic growth and their data reflects this. Our team has worked hard to engage every learner, meeting them where they are at. Our village-like atmosphere allows for a supportive and nurturing environment for our students.

To our graduates and families moving from Alice, we send you blessings and hold you in our prayers. Thanks for enriching our community and we know you will enrich the ones you join.

God bless, see you in 2024.
