Reporting

An email will be sent to families when Semester 2 Academic Reports are available on Parent Lounge and Student Café on Friday 8 December. End of Semester reports contain effort levels and overall results for the year, and Progressive reports contain results from assessment this term as well as feedback and feedforward comments to support student learning.

Locker Clean Outs

Students have been given time to clean out their lockers this week. Please encourage your child to bring all their belongings home for the holidays as they will have a new locker next year. Some students have left their locks with Ms Mills and some have locked them to their bags to use next year.

Friends with Dignity

Well done to the Year 7 students who participated in the recent wellbeing program to raise money for the 'Back to School' drive. Students created their own wellbeing and giving challenges to be performed within their families and were sponsored to raise funds for Friends with Dignity. The 'Back to School' drive ensures that children who have been forced to leave home suddenly through domestic violence or who are living in refuges, have a backpack filled with the necessary equipment to start the school year. The pack includes the backpack, lunchbox, drink bottle and necessary stationery to ensure students are set up with the basics to ensure a good start at school and which enables them to blend in with their peers.

Thank you to the students involved and to friends and family for your support and sponsorship. A total of $900 was raised which means 30 children will be able to be supplied with a backpack. This community service project has enabled students to demonstrate 'Care' to our wider community in keeping with our Clayfield College values.

Year 7 Technologies Expo

Excitement filled the air at Clayfield College this past Thursday November 23, as the Year 7 students showcased their innovation prowess in the collaborative project that brought together Digital Technologies, Design and Food Technology. Under the guidance of dedicated teachers, the students embarked on a journey that seamlessly blended creativity, technology, and culinary skills.

The heart of the project centred around designing logos for custom T-shirts, crafting themed menus, and preparing delectable smoothies and muffins. Working in groups, our budding designers and chefs immersed themselves in the creative process, unleashing their imaginations to produce unique and visually stunning logos that adorned their custom t-shirts.

As Thursday unfolded, the school was treated to a visual feast as the students transformed their collaborative efforts into a captivating presentation. Tables adorned with thematic decorations served as the perfect backdrop for the students to proudly showcase their custom T-shirts and present their thoughtfully curated menus. The atmosphere buzzed with energy as students, staff and guests marvelled at the fusion of design and culinary expertise.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated teachers, Ms Mills, Mrs Taylor, and Ms Francis, whose guidance and encouragement paved the way for this memorable event. Their commitment to fostering creativity and collaboration was evident in the impressive results achieved by our Year 7 students.

The highlight of the event was, of course, the tasting session. Staff and students alike relished the opportunity to sample the delightful muffins and refreshing smoothies prepared by our young chefs. Conversations flowed as everyone discussed how the menus, T-shirts with bespoke logos, and overall themes harmoniously came together.

This collaborative project not only showcased the talents of our Year 7 students but also emphasised the importance of teamwork, creativity, and the integration of diverse skills. It was a celebration of innovation and a testament to the fantastic learning experiences taking place within the walls of Clayfield College.

We look forward to witnessing more remarkable projects and collaborations as our students continue to explore, create and inspire.
