What's Been Happening in Year 2

The Year 2s had an adventurous time at Animal Land Children’s Farm in Diggers Rest. It was filled with fun, learning and lots of animal encounters! We embraced the hands-on experience as we milked a cow and fed some ducks, sheep and alpacas. We even got to take a ride on a pony named Snowflake! We got to hold guinea pigs and bunnies on our laps, and we patted a precious baby lamb. The excitement continued as we got to see some pigs, chickens and roosters in their natural habitats. We spotted eggs that they had laid in their nests. It evolved from a hands-on experience to a lesson in gratitude for all the animals that provide us with food and clothing materials. Nearing the end of the day, we planted snow peas that we got to take home to nurture and grow. We were left with smiles, a newfound appreciation for animals and memories to cherish. Thank you to all the parent helpers for joining us!

Year 3 Incursion- The Matter of Matter

On Wednesday and Thursday, our Year 3s participated in an incursion focused on unraveling the mysteries of matter, exploring the various states it can exist in, and the transformations it undergoes.

The students participated in hands-on experiments, working in small groups to deepen their understanding of the states of matter.  One highlight of the incursion was the creation of an everlasting bubbling fountain using dry ice.

Here are some photos of our fun-filled experience!

Sportsmanship and Team Spirit - A Winning Combination!

One of the highlights of the day was the exceptional sportsmanship and team spirit demonstrated by our students. Whether they were sprinting down the track, leaping in the long jump, or tossing the shot put, the support and encouragement for fellow classmates were heartwarming. It's moments like these that truly make Our Lady's Primary School a community of champions.
