Breaksea House News

Hello Breaksea Boarding Community

As we enjoy our last few days of the year and celebrate the successes and hard work of our boarders this year, I’d like to focus in on expressing some gratitude and thanks to those who contribute to our vibrant and supportive community.

Firstly, a hearty thank you to our boarding parents. Not only are you the foundation of support for your children, but you’re also a valued part of our boarding community. In particular, I’d like to thank those parents that support and connect through our parent support groups and our year group parent coordinators who provide a much-needed source of information, advice and encouragement. Thank you also to those parents who attended our Boarding Muster and completed our Parent Survey. Your feedback and perspective is really helpful in ensuring that we provide an optimal boarding space for your children.

Secondly, I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to our staff, who devote so much care and diligence to the students here at Breaksea. Our team of supervisors, Ms Carter Wight, Mrs Mikaela Burton, Mrs Nicole Scott and Ms Liz Stewart are excellent role models, who go above and beyond in their support of our boarders. Our longest serving supervisor, Nicole, will be leaving us at the end of this year to a new role in NSW. We wish Nicole and her husband, Adam, all the best for the next stage of their journey and we are immensely grateful for the support and care Nicole has shown Breaksea over the years.

Finally, a very heartfelt thank you to our boarders, who are the centrepiece of boarding. Throughout the year they’ve shown kindness, hard work and resilience. It is no easy feat living in boarding and while there are many great aspects, at times it can be challenging. They constantly rise to that challenge and fill our house with vibrancy, unique personality and genuine connection.

Birthdays

Many happy returns to our November and December birthdays, Oliva Williss, Georgia Williams, Annabelle Lydeamore, and Charlie Ritchie.

I wish you all a relaxing and family filled break. All the best as harvest winds down and I hope you enjoy celebrating the year coming to an end.

Merry Christmas
