Administration News

The Boarding Christmas dinner was held on Thursday of Week Eight and was a great success. The night was a celebration of the whole boarding community, with students dressing in a Christmas theme and enjoying marvelous food. We invited key support people from boarding and the day school, who have helped our students throughout the year.

The night began with appreciation to all of the Boarding Supervisors from the Heads of House. Our multiskilled group of Supervisors bring something unique and special to Great Southern Grammar boarding and we thank them for their kindness and dedication to their work and to the boarders.

There were prizes for best-dressed awarded by our Gap Assistant, Tiffany Kok. Congratulations to Sophie Harris, Matilda Norrish, McKayla Ettridge, Michael Watson and Amy Medway.  We also couldn't go past awarding a best dress prize to one of the staff who really showed her Christmas spirit with the best Christmas hat. You looked great Ms Carter Wight.

The evening was also an opportunity for the students to farewell Mrs Peta Spinks and thank Mr Mark Sawle for attending his last Boarding Christmas dinner.

It was a lovely evening with much laughter, kind words and thoughtful gestures.  Darcy Roberts said Grace and we all enjoyed the feast that was put on by Chef Nick Harvey, Chef James McNeil and the dining staff. We thank them all for putting on such a wonderful Christmas dinner.

Photo Competition

The winners of the photo competition were also announced at the Christmas dinner.  This competition has been running for six years and I would like to thank everyone who entered and everyone who voted.

Some of the voting over the years has been very close, but this year we did have a clear first, second and third place.

Third place was awarded to Harrison Greenup (Year Ten) for his photo named Cozy Cabin.  Well done Harry.

Second place was awarded to Esther Barrett-Lennard (Year Nine) for a photo of her dog named Pip. Well done Esther.

First place was awarded to Azriel Bin-Omar (Year Eight) for a photo she took from the air when flying home, the photo aptly named Broome. Congratulations Azriel!

Please enjoy viewing all our entries this year.
