APSMO

St Martha’s has participated in the Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiads for a number of years and we have continually seen improvements, not only in students’ scores, but student engagement in Mathematics. This competition is targeted for high achieving stage 2 and 3 students in Mathematics.

The students this year have done extraordinarily well and have persevered through challenges. Over the course of this year, students have demonstrated creative and unique approaches to solving complex mathematical problems, have worked collaboratively with each other and have achieved personal bests.

We also chose to participate in The Junior Maths Games. This program provides an opportunity for high achieving students in stage 2 to learn valuable problem solving skills in a non-competitive environment.
