Fete News 16 March 2025

Hello lovely families,

The Fete season is upon us and the CNPS crew is starting to gear up for another successful day. The rides have been booked (The Dogems are back!) and the planning/booking/cooking has begun. Any old school can make a standard Fete but only CNPS can make the infamous Great Lee Street Fete. It takes many hands* to make it the best day of the year and we are calling all families to get on board now.

How can you help now and over the summer:

  • Can you donate to the Silent Auction? This is the big money earner. Let's all see if we can donate something.
  • Make jams or relishes. Donate clean jam jars.
  • Start sorting your secondhand books, clothes, toys
  • Make something crafty for the craft stall. Can you knit?
  • Gather your wine or spirits for the mystery bottle stall.
  • Propagate some plants.

Seeking the following lead roles:

  • Fete Lead
  • Food Coordinator
  • BBQ Boss

Please speak to Gaby at the front desk or message Catherine on 0434317662.

(Fun Fact: Did you know "Many hands make light work" was a phrase coined by the very first CNPS Fete leader in 1910. Source: unreliable)

Silent Auction

The Silent Auction is the big money earner so please think what you, your family/friends or a business in your local area could offer. Do you have an unwanted present? A cool piece of furniture? A service, product or voucher from your business? Rental of a holiday home for the weekend? Or perhaps you could buy something new to donate. Let's all help make the auction a huge fundraising success. All donations whatever size are welcome!

If you would like to donate please email CNPS.silentauction@gmail.com or contact Raylyn (Harper & Otis’ mum) on 0423 713 158

Jam Stall

If you're a previous jam/chutney/preserve-adjacent maker, a wannabe maker or happen to be someone who might have access to bulk quantities of fruit or veggies, even just a one-off bag of lemons - we'd love them, please join our WhatsApp using the QR below or message Erin on 0422 296207, we'd love to hear from you!

Thank you so very much to our amazing school community for all the jar donations we've already collected from the office. Please keep them coming - glass jars with metal lids are best and 200-400ml size is our most widely used but we can find a use for any size!

Plant Stall

We will be seeking donations of quality plants for the Fete - indoor, outdoor, native or edibles! We would also love lots of donations of raw bunches of flowers (ie not made up into bouquets) for the mini flower shop which does so well for the school. These wont be required until Fete day. Thanks!!
