PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

It's clear that Term 4 is one of the busiest times of the school year and we are just over halfway. We’ve had a wonderful start with plenty of celebrations and successes already, and there’s still much more to look forward to so please ensure you keep an eye out for all the up-to-date information.
Prep Transition
We are excited to welcome our 2025 Prep students for their upcoming transition sessions over the next few Tuesdays. These sessions will give our future Preps a chance to familiarise themselves with their new learning environment, meet some of our staff, and connect with future peers. We look forward to supporting them as they begin their journey at our school. The first session is next Tuesday 9-10am. We can’t wait to see our Little Easties again.
State-wide Transition Day is coming up on Tuesday, December 10th. Our 2025 Prep students will attend school for a half-day, giving them a first taste of their new environment. Later that evening, we invite parents to join us for the Prep Information Session at 6 pm, where we’ll cover key details to help you prepare for the year ahead.
Whole School Transition
Whole-school transition began today! Students got a glimpse of what life will be like at their 2025 year level, with the chance to ask questions and get a sense of some of the activities they’ll be involved in. These visits are not an indication of their final 2025 classes; rather, they provide an opportunity for students to meet this year’s level teachers and explore the spaces they’ll be in. It’s a great way to ease any anxieties as they prepare for next year.
Over the next four Fridays, students will continue to visit their 2025 year level, experiencing different classrooms and teachers during this time.
2025 Grade Placements (as shared in previous newsletters)
Parent requests for 2025 classes have now closed, and we are well into the complex task of creating our new class groups. When forming classes, we consider a variety of factors based on a few key principles:
Staff carefully look for compatible learning partners, consider current friendships, and encourage the development of new connections. This thoughtful process helps create a positive and supportive environment for every student. This process takes considerable time and no late parent requests will be considered. Thank you for your understanding regarding this process.
On Wednesday, December 18th (the last week of term), from 9:15 to 10:15, students will meet their 2025 class groups and teachers.
Wishing everyone a well earned weekend!
