Secondary Bulletin

Welcome to Term 2!

We hope everyone has enjoyed a well-deserved break and is feeling energised for the new term ahead.

Here is some important information to kick off Term 2:

Progressive Reports for Years 7 to 11

Term 1 assessment progressive reports will be available from Monday 28 April for Years 7-11. Parents and caregivers can access these reports through Parent Lounge under the Student Details tab. Select 'Curricular Activities' from the drop-down menu to view feedback. These reports offer:

  • Valuable Feedback: highlighting areas of success from Term 1 assessments
  • Feed Forward Information: suggestions for improvement, guiding students on how to enhance future work.

Students are encouraged to actively reflect on this feedback and incorporate it into their planning for Term 2.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

These are scheduled for Week 2, and offer families an opportunity to connect with teachers, discuss academic progress so far, and set goals for the remainder of the year.

We look forward to an engaging and productive Term 2!

As we begin Term 2, I want to take a moment to reflect on the positive habits and strong community spirit demonstrated in Term 1. Congratulations to all students for upholding our College values of Care, Integrity, Resilience, and Respect through consistent adherence to our Uniform Policy, excellent punctuality, responsible phone use, and enthusiastic participation in College and House activities. Looking ahead we will continue to build on this foundation, and focus on respectful behaviour in all facets of our College community.

We continue to embrace our strategic pillar of ‘Wellbeing through Belonging,' through our House Activities. This week, we focus on Ashburn House.

Ashburn House Brings the Spirit to the Stage

House spirit is thriving in Ashburn House! Last term, during House time, students were grouped by year level and challenged to create their own dance routines. What began as a fun, team-building activity quickly turned into an energetic dance-off. From this, four routines were selected and showcased onstage during Assembly in Week 10. Even our staff joined in on the fun!

A huge thank you to Ashburn pastoral care teachers, Mr Grady Howard, Dr Steven Griffiths, and Mrs Rebecca Geevarghese for their ongoing support. Their presence at the House Chapel on Sunday 30 March, and their constant encouragement mean so much to our students.

This year, Ashburn students have truly embodied House spirit. Whether they’re cheering on their peers, competing in the pool or on the track, or dancing on stage, their energy and dedication continue to inspire. - Mrs Karen Gordon, Ashburn House Leader

Trafalgar Castle School Exchange (Whitby, Ontario)

As we farewell Ava Luk, Charlotte Strickland, Imogen Davies, and Savannah Connolly on their Trafalgar Castle School Exchange, we celebrate the beginning of an incredible opportunity for personal and academic growth.

An international exchange is not just a change of scenery, it’s a chance to step beyond the familiar, embrace new cultures, and challenge oneself in unfamiliar environments. It allows students to reflect on their learning styles, gain global perspectives, and develop resilience and independence. While it’s not a holiday, it is a journey filled with rich experiences, meaningful connections, and lifelong lessons. We are confident our students will represent Clayfield College with curiosity, courage, and grace, and we look forward to hearing all about their adventures and achievements abroad.

Christian Mission, Service and Training Assistance Program
