University Admissions Centre (UAC) PINs
On 2 April, all NSW Year 12 students will receive their UAC PINs via their email address registered with NESA. Reminder to students to update your student contact email to a personal email address. UAC will need to contact you after you finish school.
Girls Can Too! Tamworth
Some of our students recently participated in a ‘Girls Can Too!’ trade program run in conjunction with the TAFE NSW and the Department of Education RIEP (Regional Industry Education Program). They had a great week where they found out about the trades in areas such as Plumbing, Electrical, Engineering (Metal Fabrication) and Automotive.
New England University Road Show
Year 11 and 12 students attended the 2025 New England University Road Show which included guest speakers from the University of New England (UNE), the University of Newcastle (UoN), Charles Sturt University (CSU), and Southern Cross University (SCU). The presentation included a generic overview on how to apply for university, accommodation options, and ‘life as a university student’.
The University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health (UONDRH) Health Careers Forum
On Tuesday 11th March a number of Year 10 and 11 students had the opportunity to attend the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health (UONDRH) Health Careers Forum at The UONDRH Tamworth Education Centre. Students were exposed to information and activities on a range of health professions, including Medicine, Nutrition & Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Mental Health, Medical Radiation Science, Midwifery, Nursing and Speech Pathology. At the end of the session students were asked to complete a survey, giving them a chance to win a Yeti water bottle, Year 10 Alice Smith completed her survey and was the winner of the Yeti water bottle.
Tamworth Hospital Allied Health Work Experience
Tamworth Hospital again hosted an exciting 3-day hands-on Allied Health Work Experience Program for Year 10 Students. Seven McCarthy students had the opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of Allied Health, exploring careers such as Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech Pathology. During the program, the students gained invaluable insights into the diverse roles and responsibilities of Allied Health professionals. They also had the chance to interact with experienced practitioners, and participate in practical activities that bring these careers to life. This immersive experience sparked interest and inspired the participants to explore future study and career options with Allied Health.
A Reminder for Students to Check their School Emails
Students are reminded to check their emails daily. The Transition team will submit numerous Expression of Interests (EOI) for training, professional learning and/or fantastic events.

Work Experience/Work Placement
Students who are about to commence work experience/work placement are required to have completed/signed paperwork. Please see staff at the careers office to complete this process.
