Wellbeing - Lourdes House Assembly
On Tuesday 4 March, Lourdes House hosted the College assembly on the theme of Hope.
House Captains Carlie Nightingale and Riley Senini led the assembly with a brief description regarding the character strength of Hope.
"It’s the feeling that no matter how tough everything gets, there is still always the possibility for better days ahead. Hope is what keeps us going despite setbacks and challenges." – Carlie
"Hope is not just a feeling, it’s a powerful force. It inspires us to take action to make changes and to support one another." – Riley
Coincidentally, hope was also the theme of the Imperfect's podcast during the same week as our assembly. For those unfamiliar with the podcast, Hugh Van Cuylenburg from The Resilience project hosts the podcast with his brother Josh and Ryan Shelton. During this episode, Dr Emily Musgrave shares that hope is not an emotion. It can be learned, and it can be cultivated.
I highly recommend this podcast and this episode in particular. It can be found wherever you get your podcasts from or via this link: Dr Emily - Hope - The Imperfects
