It’s hard to believe our Prep children have nearly finished their first term at school and what an incredible job they are doing. They have settled into school life and are making amazing progress. We are very fortunate that our local pre-school teachers do such a fantastic job of preparing the children for school life.

Our Grade 6 students are at the other end of their journey, in their final year of primary school. They have had a very busy this term, including their camp at 'The Summit'. A huge thank you to our dedicated school staff for making the Grade 6 camp such a memorable and successful experience!

At the beginning of next term, we will be sending out the secondary school transition forms. This brings with it the realisation that their time at primary school is nearing the end.

School Review

Our school review was completed last week. The panel were very complimentary about our school. They reviewed our data and had conversations with all staff in various groups, our student leaders, selected groups of students from Grades 3-5 and a parent forum. We have now set our new goals for the School Strategic Plan, targets and key improvement strategies. I will receive a report in about 6 weeks and then the school can write the Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) for the next 12 months .

I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents and students who contributed to our recent school review. Your insights, feedback, and involvement are invaluable in helping us continue to grow and improve. Your support plays a crucial role in shaping the future of our school, and we truly appreciate the time and effort to be part of this process. Together, we are building a stronger and more vibrant school community and giving our students the greatest opportunity to get the best learning possible!

WORKING BEE- Save the date: Sunday 4th  May

Each year we hold a working bee to clean up areas of the school.

Rick and our gardening crew from Connecting 2 do a fabulous job at keeping our grounds clean and tidy but there is never enough time for the to get to the 'extra' things. This is why the school relies on families to get involved in the working bee.

Many hands make light work. Even if you can only spare an hour, it all helps.

Holiday Works

Over the holiday break we will be carpeting the second level of the Speight Street building, installing new cabinets in the STEAM room and installing soundproofing in 2 of the grade 6 classrooms. We will be also conducting some ‘deep cleans’ throughout the school.

Movie Night

Movie Night was a huge success, once again. Thank you for the really strong support we received from our wonderful community.  We did raise several thousand dollars, which will go directly to nature play resources to support outdoor learning.

It was wonderful to see the short films presented by some of our budding film makers. A special shout out to Doug Park who is stepping away from his involvement in the short film competition after 7 years. Thankfully we will still see him at the Trivia Night.

Crossing Supervisor

Our wonderful school community raised $2868 for John, our wonderful crossing supervisor to replace his stolen electric bike and a pair of shoes that were stolen outside the gym last week. He is very, very thankful.

Finally, a huge thank you to our students, families, and staff for making this term such a positive and busy one. We can’t wait to dive into Term 2, with fresh learning opportunities and more exciting experiences ahead.

Don’t forget week 1 of Term 2 is a three day week as Friday April 25th is the ANZAC Day public holiday and our Term 2 curriculum day is on Friday 23rd May. TheirCare will provide care on this day

Take care, be kind, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next term!
