Message from the Director of Schools

Regina Menz

Dear Colleagues,

As we approach Easter Sunday 2025, we prepare to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the foundation of our Catholic faith and the ultimate source of hope. This year, we journey as 'Pilgrims of Hope,' a theme that resonates deeply with the Easter message. Just as the disciples, amidst their grief and uncertainty, became pilgrims encountering the risen Christ, we too are called to walk in faith carrying the light of hope into the world.

The Resurrection reminds us that even in the face of darkness and despair, new life and transformation are always possible. We are invited to move beyond our challenges and embrace the promise of renewal. As staff in our Catholic system, we are uniquely positioned to guide our young people on their own pilgrimage of hope, sharing the transformative power of Christ's love.

May the joy and hope of Easter 2025 inspire us to approach each day with renewed faith, gratitude, and a commitment to being symbols of hope in our communities.

Project Compassion is one of the major fundraising and awareness raising activities of Caritas Australia. Caritas’s mission is ‘Working together for justice and dignity. Building together a thriving future for all.’ A mission that resonates with our vision of a hope-filled future. It has been fantastic to see our schools embrace Project Compassion and the many and varied activities raising money for this important cause. Armidale Catholic Schools Office has also been raising much needed funds for Caritas through a range of activities including the Long Walk for Water ACSO staff have raised over $3000 for Project Compassion. A big thank you to our Mission Team: Damian Roff, Darryl Martin and Kate Frazier for organising our fundraising efforts.

As Term 1 finishes this week, I want to thank you for all your energy and hard work over the past 11 weeks and more. I have had the opportunity to visit 16 of our schools and I look forward to visiting the other schools early next term. In every school I visit, strong teams are working together to enhance learning and teaching. Our staff work together to help us realise our vision of a Christ-centred, inclusive learning community that supports young people to realise a hope-filled future. The strong relationships between schools and the ACS office is essential in creating the conditions for learning to happen. I hope you all have a wonderful break and enjoy some time with your family and friends.
