Parents & Friends

Just one more week to go and Term 1 is over, and what a big week it is!
Hot Cross Buns
Hot cross bun orders are now closed, thanks to everyone who has put an order in.
Orders will be available to pick up after school on Wednesday April 2.
Family Breakfast
Family breakfast is next week on Friday 4th April from 7:30- 9:00am. Thanks to everyone who has RSVP'd to let us know you'll be coming!
If you can help us out with food prep the night before or serving on the day, please sign up at https://volunteersignup.org/ADLA8. We particularly need helpers on the Thursday after school to get through all the food prep, even if you can only stay for 30 minutes.
Easter Raffle
Our Easter raffle will be drawn at Family Breakfast! Raffle tickets for the Easter raffle have now gone home to all students. If you didn't receive any, or are looking to grab more, please see Jane at reception. Tickets will also be available at family breakfast for purchase. Tickets are $1 each. Please ensure you write your name and contact number on the raffle tickets before returning them in a sealed envelope including payment to the school.
We are also still looking for donations of items for the raffle. We are looking for any Easter themed items such as Easter chocolates (boxed or bags), empty baskets, books, toys and crafts. All donations are greatly appreciated and can be left at reception over the next week.
Federal Election 2025
The federal election has been called and will be held on Saturday 3 May. As we always do, we will be running a BBQ and cake stall on the day, which are always very well received by the community.
We will also be running stalls with second hand books and second hand children's toys and games. We will be collecting these items in the first week of Term 2, so if you are planning a clean out over the school holidays, please consider donating any good condition books or children's toys, games or puzzles to the school.
We will also need volunteer support in the lead up to and to man the stalls on the day. Next week, we'll have printed flyers ready to be letterbox dropped around the neighbourhood over the school holidays, we would greatly appreciate your support in getting those out. The roster is also now live, so please put your name down to help out if you can at https://volunteersignup.org/BACMT
P&F Meetings
Our next P&F meeting will be held in the staff room at school in Term 2 on Wednesday 30 April 9:00am - 9:30am.
P&F meetings are open to all, and I would encourage you to come along and have a chat, and find out more about what we do.
Class WhatsApp Groups
All class WhatsApp groups have been set up for 2025. If you have not received the details for your class chat, please email me at mprps.pf@gmail.com with your child's name and the class they are in, and I'll get you the right links. These groups will play an important role in our communications this year, alongside our notices and the newsletter.
Community Support Representative
Our Community Support Representative is Jess Walker, who has been part of the MPRPS community as a parent for over 17 years. Over her time, she has seen many changes at the school: staff, buildings, curriculum, events and many more. But the one thing that has never changed is the sense of connection and community our school offers. Whether it's manning a Mother's or Father's Day stall, cooking sausages at Twilight Sports, being a parent helper in the classroom or having a coffee catch up with other parents after drop off, these are all valuable connections to our school community.
Another way in which MPRPS fosters connection to the community is by aiding families who may need a helping hand. All families struggle with something at some time, and we can help make those times a bit more bearable. Some of the ways we can assist is by providing meals to families who are having a difficult time. This could be due to an illness or a death in the family, or any other form of hardship a family may be experiencing. We have also assisted families to borrow or be gifted items for school camps such as raincoats, sleeping bags and other essentials. If we can't help with your request, we will do our best to connect you with services that can.
Jess understands that sometimes it can be difficult to ask for help, and she would like to assure everyone that all requests from parents and carers are confidential. The community members assisting with the requests are not given the names of the family in need. You can send Jess an email or text, or you can ask a friend to approach her on your behalf. Chatting to your friends to bring awareness of this service would also help us spread the word.
If you believe we can be of assistance to you or your family, please email Jess on mprps.community@gmail.com or text/call her on 0433 050 092.
