Year 3 Explores 'Who We Are': A Journey into Heritage

This term, our Year 3 students have been delving into the inquiry unit 'Who We Are,' which focuses on understanding and celebrating our diverse heritage and communities. Each student created a heritage box, filled with meaningful items such as photographs, flags, maps, and other significant artefacts that provide a unique snapshot of their personal and family history. Students then shared their heritage boxes with the class, presenting speeches that highlighted their cultural backgrounds and the stories of those who came before them. 

It has been a truly enriching experience for everyone involved, as we have all gained a deeper appreciation for the diverse backgrounds that make up our school community.

Infant Indonesian

Prep students have been learning the Indonesian words for different body parts. They enjoyed finding the correct part on a partner and marking it with a dot.

Year 1 Indonesian students set up a “Warung Jus” (juice stall) and practised buying and selling cups of juice, using Indonesian for greetings, fruit names, ‘May I have?’, and ‘Thank you’.

Year 2 students have enjoyed learning the vocabulary and performing ‘Satu Rubah’ a counting book thriller.

They were also delighted to receive a visit from some Year 9 Indonesian students who created and shared some lovely Indonesian picture books which they gave as gifts to their Year 2 friends.

Primary Swimming Program Lesson Times 2024

Grade P-2 Monday 9th September until 13th September

Grade 3-6 Monday 16th September until 20th September

Please see Consent2Go for all information about the upcoming Swimming Program and provide permission for your child to attend.

Students will require a bag (separate to their school bag) to carry their towel and change of underwear and clothing to the pool each day. They are asked to wear their swimmers under their sports uniform each morning.

*All students are required to have a swim cap. Coloured swim caps in house colours are available through the SCC uniform shop.

Parents are invited to attend but will need to sign in at the venue and no photography or video is permitted at the venue for child protection reasons.

We look forward to a wonderful week of water safety and students gaining confidence and improving their swimming skills.

Primary Assembly Roster - Term 3

Assemblies are held weekly on a Tuesday afternoon at 2:30pm (for a 2:35pm start). Parents are welcome to attend.
