Book Week in the Art Room

The students of F1/2 have been having a lot of fun exploring their imagination based on the shortlisted Picture Book If I was a Horse by Sophie Blackall.  After reading the book, students thought about what colour horse they would be, if they would wear clothes, what sort of activities they would do.  They imagined they would have wings or a horn like a unicorn, some would wear tutus or play soccer.  One horse even has an ultimate jet pack.

Grade 3/4 News

On Wednesday 7th August, the 3/4 classes were visited by an Olympic Torch bearer!!

Teacher, Abby Misiti, carried the torch for the Sydney 2000 games through Seymour; she was a student at Seymour College at the time. Ms Misiti showed us some memorabilia and let the students hold the torch. The students learnt about the Olympic Torch, how it is carried throughout the world, with the flame being kept alight for the entire time, and then finally to light the cauldron, which burns for the entire two weeks of the Olympics Games.
