New Uniform Guidelines

 

Uniform 2024

  • A Consultative process is being conducted to review MMCRC Uniform guidelines. It is hoped the process will conclude by Term 4, 2024. Guidelines would be ready before the commencement of the 2025 academic year
  • The objectives of this process are:
  1. Review College uniform guidelines 
  2. Provide clear direction about how, what and when uniform items are to be worn. 
  3. Provide direction about how the College responds to uniform breaches
  4. Engage with staff, students, and parents about guidelines review

Your Choicez Seminars at MMCRC

 

Three Seminars were planned for next week. The seminars will now be held on November 12 and 13. The content covered will include:

 

(Year 7 Connections that Count periods 1,2,3) & (Year 8 Connections that Count periods 4,5,6)

  1. Develop an understanding of key terms such as image-based abuse, sexual harassment, and coercion.
  2. Gain a thorough understanding of the concerns, dangers and legalities around the issue of sexting.
  3. Understand the powerful role of empathy and encourage students to be upstanders rather than bystanders.
  4. Evaluate the unhealthy belief that their value is determined by the way they look: reframing value to be more than skin deep.
  5. Gain an understanding of the popularity myth and the power of true friendship: what science has to say about quality friendship over quantity.
  6. Consider the impact of social media and the way it can affect their understanding of themselves and the way they view relationships.
  7. Reframe asking for help as a positive course of action and a sign of strength. Identify the key personnel in their world they can turn to for help.

(Year 10 Respectful Relationships full-day seminar)

  1. Recognise the key ingredients within a healthy relationship and know how to identify unhealthy relationship behaviours.
  2. Understand the impact pornography can have on young people both personally and relationally.
  3. Consider their decisions around sex in a way that aligns with their personal values and beliefs.
  4. Evaluate the way they are engaging online and consider a positive way forward.
  5. Gain a thorough understanding of consent and how this applies to their relationships both on and offline.
  6. Be empowered to make decisions that are right for them, despite external pressures they may face.
  7. Understand the power of connection and how to build meaningful relationships with family and friends.

• All seminars are in gender groupings 

• Staffing: Combination of senior wellbeing and pastoral teaching staff
