We are thrilled to share the heartwarming success of our recent Chinese Singing Competition, a wonderful collaboration between our dedicated Chinese language teachers and the esteemed Confucius Institute at QUT. This event provided students from Years 7-12 with a unique platform to showcase their language proficiency and cultural appreciation through the captivating medium of music.
The competition featured a single category for all participants, highlighting the diverse talents across these year levels. Each performance combined their understanding of the Chinese language with their passion for singing, resulting in a series of engaging and impressive renditions.
We are delighted to announce the winners of this exceptional event:
Their performances were remarkable not only for their impressive language skills but also for their ability to infuse cultural elements into their renditions, making each performance a memorable experience.
This competition was more than just a showcase of talent; it was a celebration of unity and diversity. Our students embraced the opportunity to explore the rich world of Chinese language and culture, broadening their perspectives and deepening their global understanding.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Confucius Institute at QUT for their invaluable support in making this event possible. Their commitment to promoting language and cultural exchange has greatly enhanced our students' learning experiences.
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this extraordinary event. We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate and nurture the talents of our students in the future.
From July 16th to July 26th, we had the pleasure of hosting a group of enthusiastic students from Chong Ming Junior High School in Taiwan. Their visit was a vibrant mix of educational and cultural activities that left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
The students engaged in a variety of activities designed to enhance their English skills and immerse them in local culture. They participated in engaging English lessons, explored the rhythmic world of drumming, and enjoyed relaxing coffee time at a local café. Their adventurous spirit also led them on nature walks, where they experienced the beauty of our surroundings firsthand. A highlight of their visit was the pizza-making activity, where they learned to create delicious pizzas from scratch and savoured the results!
The visit was further enriched by the presence of the Chong Ming Junior High School principal and several staff members, who arrived on the first day to greet our staff and students. Their visit provided a wonderful opportunity to discuss potential collaborations and future projects between our schools. These conversations set the stage for exciting future partnerships that we eagerly anticipate.
A special thank you goes out to our amazing buddies who helped the Chong Ming students feel at home and ensured they made the most of their experience. Your enthusiasm and support were truly appreciated. Additionally, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Hart and Mrs. Benjamin for their exceptional planning and organization, which made the study tour a resounding success.
We are excited about the future opportunities for collaboration and look forward to continuing our relationship with Chong Ming Junior High School. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this study tour a memorable and enriching experience!
