WELC & International Student Report

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
The second half of Term 3 has been eventful and exciting for our International Student Program, with two major happenings to share!
First, we were honoured to be selected by the Department to feature in this year’s Virtual School Tour. Each year, only a handful of schools are chosen, and it was a privilege to have a professional filming team onsite to promote our school to a global audience.
The virtual tour showcased our school's welcoming environment, exceptional facilities, and diverse academic and cultural opportunities for international students. Special thanks to all the students and staff who supported this special filming project.
Second, our Year 12 international students have been participating in a series of Wellness Workshops aimed at supporting their well-being during this crucial academic year. In Week 6, students enjoyed a lively wild animal incursion, which allowed them to connect with nature and take a refreshing break from their studies. In Week 8, the focus shifted to mindfulness with a unique and calming chocolate meditation session, combining indulgence with relaxation techniques to help them stay centred.
We look forward to continuing these enriching activities and supporting our international students as they navigate their academic journeys!
To ensure compliance with our ISP attendance policy, we kindly request that all students check term dates before booking flights (see below). This policy is in place to guarantee students meet their academic obligations and fully participate in end-of-year school activities.
We understand the excitement of returning home, but adhering to this policy will prevent any disruptions to your studies.

We are fast approaching the end of the term and have continued to enrol students over the past few weeks with 6 new students joining our Language Centre. We now have 56 students and are running five classes.
Students have had several extra-curricular events over the last few weeks. These include a Respectful Relationship session with our school nurse, Westall Athletics Day and a Meet the Lifeguard Workshop. Students also participated in several Arts Week events this week including the Photo booth and Lego City.
Some of our students represented Westall at an inter-school badminton competition, too. We are very proud of our students for always trying new things and participating. This is a wonderful skill to have throughout their lives and we hope they continue to engage with all the wonderful opportunities their schools offer them in the future.
The Westall Care values are values we try to have as foundation principles in our Language Centre and we congratulate Shahab, Zinat and Elmira for receiving a Westall Care certificate over the last few weeks!
About 13 students will exit our language Centre at the end of this term and these students are preparing for their graduation on the final day of term. We congratulate these students on successful completion of their English program and wish them all the best for next term!
We wish all WELC students a safe and happy holiday starting on Saturday 21 September. School will start again on Monday 7 October. At this time, students should wear summer uniform which includes summer dresses or shorts and school shirts.
