The Surfside Art Show is an exhibition that showcases the wonderful artwork made by students across all year levels. The theme for the event is Medieval Days with the younger students gaining inspiration from popular fairy tales. The artwork will be displayed down the main school corridor, staff room, and library. To fill out the night and make it even more fun we have added some extra activities:
Sausage Sizzle and Snack Shack: Bring some cash to buy some dinner or snack! A sausage sizzle will be running outside the canteen area with various snacks on offer as well.
Theatre Performance: A medieval event has to have a live performance to entertain the royal court so we have some drama students ready to perform for you in the Art room/Royal Theatre. This performance was organised a student Riley Lunn and Music teacher Mr. Morzinek who has co-ordinated all the lunch time rehearsals. Performances will run between 5-7 pm only every 10 minutes or so.
Drumming Performance: A number of our students will be participating in a drumming performance that will hopefully have your toes tapping.
Music Performance: Mr Morzinek and Mr Murphy have been gathering students together to sing a medieval tune for you. These performances have been filmed and will be streamed on two TV’s – one in the staff room and the other in the Library.
Face painting- We have some year 6 students ready to paint a rainbow, unicorn or some medieval themed art on your face! The face painting stall will be located in the staff room.
Medieval Games: Have you ever shot an arrow? Played a game of Koits? Well we have purchased some children’s archery sets so you can give it a go. These activities will be in the library for a bit of fun.
Catapult Display: Our year 4 team took on the challenge to build a catapult using the new STEM room. These will be displayed in the library.
