Over the past few weeks, they have embraced new challenges, formed friendships, and begun creating lifelong memories. From navigating their timetables to discovering new subjects like Digital Technology, Food Studies, Drama, Japanese, and Sport, our Year 7s have shown resilience and enthusiasm in adapting to this new environment.
Year 7 Camp – Phillip Island Adventure Resort
A major highlight of Term 1 so far has been the Year 7 Camp at Phillip Island Adventure Resort. This three-day adventure provided students with the perfect opportunity to step out of their comfort zones, build new friendships, and create unforgettable experiences.
Students participated in a range of activities, including:
🏄 Surfing lessons and an afternoon at Smith’s Beach
🎶 A fun-filled disco and movie night
⚡ The exhilarating twin flying fox
🌲 High ropes and the giant swing
🏹 Archery and raft building
🎯 Laser Strike, testing teamwork and strategy in an exciting outdoor setting
The camp was a fantastic way for students to develop teamwork, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging in their new school community.
Pastoral Care – Building Connections & Confidence
Our Pastoral Care program is designed to support students throughout the school year and is tailored to support student needs. This term, the focus has been on fostering a sense of belonging, improving organisation, and ensuring students feel supported during this significant change. Building positive relationships with peers and teachers is essential to a successful and enjoyable start to high school.
We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 7 students have approached the start of their secondary school journey and look forward to seeing their continued growth throughout the year!
Year 8
A Strong Start to the Year
As our Year 8 students settle into Term 1, they have embraced new opportunities and challenges with enthusiasm. This year marks an exciting stage in their learning journey, as they continue to build on the foundations set in Year 7. Students have been engaging with new specialist subjects such as Sport, Woods and Plastics, Textiles, and Music, expanding their skills and exploring their interests in greater depth.
A key highlight of the term has been the successful transition from the LP7 area, with students excelling in their new learning spaces and taking greater ownership of their learning. Their ability to adapt and show independence has been impressive, setting a positive tone for the rest of the year.

Looking Ahead
With a strong start to the year, students are encouraged to set goals, maintain a positive mindset, and make the most of the opportunities ahead. We look forward to seeing them thrive both in and outside the classroom as they continue to develop academically, socially, and personally.
We are excited for what’s to come in Year 8 and can’t wait to see our students embrace all the experiences that lie ahead!
