Hello from the Auslan team! 

We hope you all had a fun and restful break. We extend a warm welcome back to all students and families. 

This term, we are excited to continue developing student’s Auslan skills through engaging and interactive lessons. Our focus will be on building confidence in communication by incorporating stories, group practice, hands-on activities, and games. Through these interactive and immersive experiences, students will not only expand their vocabulary but also gain a deeper appreciation and understanding for the importance of non- verbal communication. 

This week, we revisited fingerspelling and reinforcing student’s understanding of the Auslan alphabet. Students designed their own Alphabet Poster, incorporating their unique artistic flair. As the term progresses, we will introduce key signs for everyday conversations, enabling students to express themselves respectfully and effectively. 

We cannot wait to see student’s continue to grow in their skills and confidence, and we encourage families to engage in their learning journey by practicing signs at home!
