Year 6 News

From Ben F, Year 6 teacher
New classrooms, New teachers
Well its been an eventful start to our final year at NMPS, starting on the Wednesday we were shocked to find that we actually moved classrooms and now we are altogether tucked away in the cloud. It has been great to be back in the cloud, eating outside in the hidden alcove behind the Comm has been a treat. For 6B and 6D they finally had the chance to meet their teachers for the year in Harrison and Harriet and there was much rejoicing.
On Friday the teachers introduced to Maths Pathway, a mathematics program we will be utilising throughout the year. What they didn't mention was that we had to sit a long diagnostic test so Maths Pathways could find out our strengths and ares for improvement in maths. The Blue Bar that showed how much we had completed of the test seemed to swing wildly, sometimes showing we had nearly finished but other times showing we still had lots to do. We finally got most of it done on Monday and are looking forward to exploring the program more and enhancing our understanding in all areas of math.
Finally we can't wait to get our Year 6 Jumpers, start running assemblies, meet our Prep Buddies and hit the slopes at Mount Buller for Ski Camp in September for Year 6 Camp. 2025 is going to be lit!!!
