Year 3 News

From Lizzie, Year 3 teacher
Moving up to the senior school
Grade 3 has had a fantastic start to the year. It has been so lovely welcoming them to the Senior Campus and we can happily report they have been stepping up to the responsibilities of the Senior School. In our first week the Grade 3 students have begun their specialist classes, been settling into their classroom routines and continued to display our school values of RISE.
We have had a special focus on developing a growth mindset in these first days of school. We have been discussing how mistakes help us learn, questions are really important and how what we think shapes how we view ourselves. We encourage students to keep going even when it's challenging as this is where important learning takes place. We would love for this discussion to continue at home where students can share their goals for the year with you.
Here are some photos of Grade 3 students sharing their work from our first week. These students have chosen to show their Writer’s Notebook front covers and heart maps. This work displays some of the things they want their audience to know about themselves as authors. We can’t wait to see what they write this term!
