Our Year 5/6 students are learning their lines and taking on their lead roles with great gusto. Tickets will go on sale soon so please save the date, 2 July at 7pm and let all of your family and friends know.
Mother's Day is a time to celebrate and reflect on the profound impact our mothers have on our families and communities. It's an opportunity to honour the strength and sacrifices that mothers make, recognising their enduring role in shaping our lives. We are grateful for the mothers in our lives and in our school, with their unwavering support, wisdom and the countless ways they've enriched your lives. I am looking forward to celebrating with all of the St John's Mothers at Breakfast this Friday. Please ensure that you have booked in so that we can cater for everyone. We are very grateful for the support of Jellis Craig with our Advertising Boards and for also kindly donating a coffee van for Mother's Day.
We have already received a large number of Prep enrolments for 2026 and I would like to remind all current families who have a younger sibling who is ready to start school to please send in their enrolment forms. Our Prep 2026 Information Evening will be held on 15 May. Our School Leadership Team will be showcasing their Curriculum areas and supporting families, to help prepare their child for school.
St John’s was well represented in the Anzac medals awarded for Mitcham Football Club last week. Nate, Connor, Hamish and former school captain Lachy were awarded the medals for their respective age groups, which was a great effort. The medals were awarded to the players who best represented courage, sacrifice, fair play and mateship.
We are very proud of them all.
We are excited to be holding our Mother's Day Stall this Thursday. Students will be able to visit the Stall between 9 - 11am. Most items cost between $2 - $6.
We recommend that each child has between $5 - $10 each to spend at the Stall. Please send your child with cash in an envelope or small purse to school, on Thursday, with your child's name on it.
We still need a few more helpers to help sell the gifts between 9-11am so if you can help please contact Jess on jessicakruisheer@gmail.com
Our Mother's Day Breakfast will be held in the Coghlan Centre this Friday from 7.30am.

Thank you for supporting our school!
- It's sad when you sit around waiting for mum to make dinner and then you realise you are the mum.
- When you finally have time for a girls' night and realise your entire wardrobe went out of style in 2005.
May you have a peaceful week ahead and please let me know if I can assist you or your family in any way. Happy Mother's Day to all of our Wonderful Mums!
