Assistant Principals' Report

Hello everyone and welcome to our newsletter article,
Welcome back!!
It is great to be back at school after the term break. The students, staff and families all eagerly returned through the gates on Tuesday. After a short week, I hope everyone enjoys the weekend.
Staff Professional Learning
On Tuesday the staff participated in a workshop after school with a focus on digital technologies and digital safety and wellbeing. The workshop was facilitated by our Steve from Evolve. The title was ‘Risks and Responses’. The areas that were covered were as follows:
- Recognising online harm
- Grooming, extortion, and exploitation
- Cyberbullying and hate speech
- Nudes/sexting and image-based abuse
- Exposure to violent and explicit content
It was a very informative session with some great strategies and reminders for teachers. Staff will be able utilise the information where appropriate through wellbeing sessions and the Respectful Relationships curriculum program.
I would also just like to bring to everyone’s attention again the parent hub on the Evolve website.

The hub has some great resources for families including links to the e-safety guide and the beacon app. If you don’t already have the beacon app on your phone we highly recommend that you look at this great resource. https://beacon.thekids.org.au/

Duke's 7th Birthday (17th April)
In the holidays, Duke turned 7 and celebrated in NSW with his family. He started the day with a beach walk, he played a few holes of golf and consumed lots and lots of treats. He is now 49 in human years.
Happy Birthday Duke.
Have a lovely weekend and week ahead.
