From the School President

Hi everyone,
Welcome back to Term Two! I hope you all enjoyed a restful school holiday, a joyful Easter break, and made the most of a few short weeks to ease into the new term. It’s been great to see everyone back and the school buzzing again as Term Two gets into full swing.
A big thank you to all the families who joined us for Open Night—what a fantastic turnout! It was wonderful to see so many of you engaging with staff and students, exploring classrooms, and enjoying the performances in the hall. Events like this really highlight the strength of our school community.
Looking ahead, I’d like to gently remind families about the importance of school fee contributions. As Ms. Campbell has highlighted in recent newsletters, only about 40% of families have contributed for 2025 so far, compared to 96% in previous years. This is a great concern for School Council, as these contributions directly support classroom resources, specialist programs, and the general upkeep of our school.
While education in Victoria is free in principle, that covers the building and our fantastic teaching staff. The rest - art supplies, PE equipment, STEAM materials, online programs, and even VR headsets - is made possible through your financial support. If you haven’t paid your 2025 fees yet, please consider doing so.
Flexible payment plans are available—just contact the office to arrange something that suits your family.
And finally, a huge thank you to everyone who helped with the Election Day BBQ. Thanks to every volunteer's efforts (and those delicious democracy sausages and bacon and egg rolls!), we raised around $1,000 for Weeden Heights. It was fantastic to see so many of you volunteering your time and energy to make the day such a success.
Until next time, stay safe, well, and warm!
