Boarder of The Week – Naomi Lee
This week’s boarder of the week is Naomi Lee. Naomi is in Year 10 and has been an inspiration to all the girls in Mac House. Her constant willingness to assist has been noticed and much appreciated. It is the little offerings of help to fellow boarders and staff that highlights her selflessness and giving spirit. Naomi is not afraid to lead by example and confidently guide the girls in strong values of respect, kindness, and honesty. Well done Naomi and we truly appreciate you.
Futsol and Badminton introduced.
A new offering at College and in-part through Boarding has been the addition of Futsol and Badminton to our sporting program. With great appreciation to Mr Guez and Mr Carrol, Futsol and Badminton run on a Thursday afternoon at the Senior School. The addition of both sports has engaged younger boarders and international students. I am so pleased the boarders can find a sport that lends to their interests and culture. Over terms two and three, students will be playing in their own intra-college competition.
ANZAC Parade and Dawn Service
Remembering our ANZAC and the ANZAC spirit was embraced with the pride and respect we expect of College boarders. Boarders attended the Dawn Service and the Hamilton ANZAC Parade, and I was taken by how they all approached either. Our Boarding House has a vibrant and important history involving service to our country, with Myrniong in particular assisting servicemen during training periods. Thank you to all boarders who took the time to represent our school and show their respect on ANZAC Day.
Our boarders were also into the spirit of the ANZACS with a cooking lesson, making traditional ANZAC biscuits. Not only was this a history lesson, but it was also a cooking lesson enjoyed by all. Thank you, Narelle and Glen, for leading this on the weekend.
