Wellbeing News 🍂
Hello Wonderful Parents & Carers,
Welcome to Term 2! There are so many exciting things coming up for our MEPS community.
I’m really excited to let you know that we have been given the opportunity to launch Breakfast Club at MEPS!
With one in five Victorians experiencing food insecurity, this initiative is great in providing
healthy food for students, who might otherwise go hungry. We know that with food in their tummies, kids are more likely to better engage in the classroom, to more easily focus on learning and achieve their highest potential.
Launched in 2016, the School Breakfast Clubs Program provides free breakfast foods to 1,000 Victorian schools and we are so excited to bring it to MEPS!
In addition to the Breakfast Club food, FoodBank can also provide a variety of healthy and nutritious ready to eat meals for students who have come to school without lunch. Staff will be able to access these lunches for any students as required.
We can also order a limited number of Home Food Packs for students from households that may need some extra support. These packs contain a great variety of healthy and nutritious food, suitable for the whole family. Please reach out to your classroom teacher or send an email to myself or Bel if you require a Home Food Pack sent home for your family. Some important things to know;
😃 ALL STUDENTS are welcome at Breakfast Club! Even if they have had food at home, kids can pop in for a piece of fruit, toast or bowl of cereal.
😃 We will be running Breakfast Club out of the senior building close to the new garden space.
😃 We will be taking into account any food allergies or sensitivities so please ensure your child's details are up to date on their office files.
😃 We will be looking for parent volunteers to help with set up, serving and packing up of Breakfast Club. Please keep a lookout for forms coming home soon.
😃 Breakfast Club will take place EVERY Tuesday from 13/5 onwards. There is no need to book in, students can just turn up from 8:30 onwards.
😃 Students will be required to sign in to Breakfast Club, so that we can keep track of numbers. They will also need to stay in the designated supervised Breakfast Club area until at least 8:45, as outside staff supervision is not provided until t

This is a great chance for parents and carers to connect with one another and to have a chat with our Wellbeing Team. If it is well received, I’m hoping to make this a regular event.

MHIPS Survey
Lastly, I’m hoping to get a bigger response from the survey I sent out last Term. If you haven’t already, I’d love you to fill it out either via the link below or the QR code. The data that we are getting from the surveys is already very insightful and so important in creating a greater learning environment for all!
