Year 7 Art students recently completed their first assessment exploring aerial perspective, also known as ‘bird’s eye’ perspective. In this task, students studied an important Australian artwork titled Ngurrara, The Great Sandy Desert, painted by traditional owners at Pirnini in Western Australia. Students used maps to research a particular place special to them and explored the medium of watercolour paint to create some beautiful aerial perspective paintings.

The year 8’s have started to explore graphic design and the design process, creating 3D drawings of letters based on Marvel and DC characters. In this task, they follow a design process of generating ideas of their chosen character, then use orthographic and isometric drawing projections to present their designs to the ‘client’, before creating a final design on cartridge paper for display.
