Year 8 Coordinators

A Great Start to the Year
Term 1 was a fantastic start for our Year 8 students. We’re proud of how well they settled into their new homegroups, made new friends, and welcomed new classmates. While some students were a bit nervous at the beginning, it’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow.
What’s Happening in Term 2
This term, we’re focusing on helping students build strong habits that support both their learning and wellbeing. We’re encouraging them to use their diaries regularly and manage their time well, important skills for both school and life.
We are also continuing to support students to:
• Stay positive and respectful with others
• Work hard and stay focused in class
• Stay curious and enjoy learning
We’re excited for all the learning and growth ahead this term!
Year 8 Student Success Program – Term 2 Update
This term in the Student Success Program, we’re focusing on positive self-talk - how students speak to themselves, especially during challenges. We’re helping them understand that being kind to themselves helps them stay confident and motivated.
We’ve also had great conversations around:
• Respect: What it looks like in the classroom and playground
• Taking responsibility for our actions
• Building a positive and caring Year 8 community
Our program continues to support the core values of:
• Gratitude
• Empathy
• Emotional Literacy
• Mindfulness
These values help students grow into confident, caring, and capable young people.
