Year 7 Courage to Care Program
Courage to Care is an educational program that transforms bystander behaviour by empowering our students to stand up against prejudice, discrimination and bullying. The activities opened their eyes to the consequences of the negative impact of the bystander and provide them with practical tools for action.
Students learnt:
• Stereotypes and our world
• Understanding racism and other forms of discrimination
• How society influences the way we see and treat others
• Four critical terms: stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination, racism
• What it really means to be a bystander
• Practical tools to help them become upstanders
• That each person can make a difference
Our students thoroughly enjoyed the program and feedback was extremely positive.
