Last Term our girls AFL team from Grade 5 and 6 took part in the District AFL Girls Competition, competing against 17 other schools from our area. Our girls showed outstanding teamwork, effort, toughness and excitement throughout the day winning all our games in our pool to then go straight into the final 5 finals. In our first game against Montpellier our girls almost won in a close one but ended up having a draw. After 4 games in a row we came up against Geelong College who showed excellent skill and unfortunately beat us and then went on to win the entire day. Our girls had a fantastic day with lots of laughter and will be even more prepared next year as most of them were Grade 5. Our girls finished 4th overall!

A HUGE thankyou to the wonderful help of Jake Veale who coached with Mr Hambrook on the day and also the many parents who came out to assist with goal umpiring, scoring and showed awesome support throughout the entire day- we are so lucky at Mano!
