Extra-Curricular Activities

All classes have been progressing well in their Term 1 Creative Arts (Music, Dance and Drama) program with a focus on music concepts and performance.

Below is the studied concept accompanied by the anticipated performance of each grade.

• Kindergarten: ‘Everything Bears’ with rhythm focus.
• Year 1: ‘Chicken Licken’ with Tempo focus.
• Year 2: ‘The Gingerbread Man’ with Pitch focus.
• Year 3: ‘Early Jazz Style’ with Rhythm focus.
• Year 4: ‘Later Jazz Style’ with Tempo focus.
• Seniors A and B: ‘The History of Rock with all concepts studied.

All Creative Arts lessons are based on the Creative Arts K-6 Syllabus (NESA) which involves aural, written, history, analysis and composition activities. Assessments are not based on instrumental performance alone.

Finally, our CAPA group are rehearsing every Friday lunchtime and we look forward to their performance of ‘Aladdin Trouble’ soon.

String Ensemble

Your child is invited to enrol in the 2024 String Ensemble Program. The String Ensemble Program is being offered to students in Years 1-6.  Classes are held on Wednesday mornings 7.45-8.30am in the school hall. 

Fee: $230 per semester (paid through the Qkr app) Students are required to either own or hire an instrument for use in class. Instruments are available for hire through music shops such as the Sydney String Centre. Alternatively, a limited number of ½ size violins are also available for hire through Bianca Zatz (Ensemble director) if you would like your child to join the String Ensemble, please complete the enrolment form below and email the completed form to holyfamilystrings@gmail.com
