Principal's Message
Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,
Welcome BBQ Summary
Last Friday evening, we had the pleasure of hosting our annual "P&F Welcome to Holy Family School BBQ," and it was truly heartwarming to see so many new families in attendance. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with laughter, conversations and students playing games with their buddies, really exemplified the welcoming spirit that defines our school community.
As we gathered in the playground, enjoying delicious sausages on a roll and meeting new families, it became clear that our Holy Family community is strengthened by the diverse and wonderful families who have chosen to be a part of it.
On behalf of the school community, I would like to express my appreciation to the dedicated P&F committee, Year 5 & 6 class parents and volunteers, who worked tirelessly to make the evening a resounding success. Your commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment for our school community is truly appreciated.
Traffic Concerns
Thank you to the parents who have alerted us to traffic concerns in streets surrounding our school, in particular Pacific Highway, Balfour Street and Balfour Lane. Please be assured that we take all safety concerns very seriously and have actioned the following.
- Kuring-Gai Council have been contacted with a request for the ranger to monitor the traffic management at the Coles construction site and school parking.
- Sam Edwards and I will be present at Balfour Lane & Balfour Street intersection on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to observe & monitor traffic behaviour.
- Conquest Project Manager, Jason Raad has been informed of the traffic complaints and will follow-up with the traffic controllers to monitor traffic flow.
- Additional concrete pours on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings are due to cease at the end of April 4th (weather permitting).
- Holy Family staff are proactive with carline duty with safety as the prime focus. Unfortunately, we are unable to allocate additional staff to morning duty as staff are already rostered on a duty each day and they must be allowed a daily break of 30 minutes as per the Enterprise Agreement.
We are respectfully asking parents, grandparents and carers to please remember the following:
- Disability parking is only for cars that have disability parking stickers.
- Please do not pull in behind the parked cars near the back school gate or double park across them.
- Please allocate extra time in the mornings while Coles is still completing their additional concrete pours, particularly on Tuesday and Thursdays
- Please be courteous and respectful to fellow drivers.
- Please do not block the Parish carpark driveway as Father Colin and the Parish Team often need to quickly exit to get to hospitals and nursing homes.
Your support and co-operation are greatly appreciated.
God Bless you and your families
Pauline Dinale
