Principal's Update

End of Term 1

As we approach the end of Term 1, I wanted to remind you that the last day of school for this term will be Thursday, 28th March. We will be finishing on this day at the normal time of 3:20pm. We hope your children have had a fantastic term filled with learning, fun, and making new friends.

As you prepare for the school holidays, we encourage you to continue to engage your children in meaningful learning experiences. Reading books, visiting museums, and engaging in outdoor activities are all great ways to keep your children learning and growing.

All students will return on Tuesday, 16th April for Term 2. We have lots of exciting things planned and look forward to another successful term.

NAPLAN

Congratulations to all our Year 3 and 5 students who have sat their NAPLAN assessments this week. I know that most parents are accustomed to the NAPLAN assessments these days.  However, I really want to be sure that all parents and families remember that this is just another assessment. Your children complete assessment tasks for their teachers all the time.  This shouldn’t be made out to be any more important than those tasks. All we ask is that students give the assessment tasks their best efforts, and they certainly did. I would like to commend the students on their concentration and efforts shown during the assessments.

We certainly saw lots of smiling faces this morning as students enjoyed a pancake breakfast and hot milo to mark the last day of NAPLAN. Thank you to our ES staff members who volunteered to serve the breakfast.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

We would like to invite you to our upcoming Parent/Teacher Interviews, which will take place on Thursday March 21st, from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm. This is a great opportunity for you to meet with your child's teacher and discuss their progress in school.

To book your appointment, you can log in to Compass and select the preferred time slot that suits you. If you require any assistance with booking your appointment, please feel free to contact our school office, and we will be happy to assist you.

The Parent/Teacher Interviews are a valuable opportunity for you to discuss your child's strengths, weaknesses, and progress with their teacher. It is also an excellent opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about their academic or personal development.

Please ensure that you arrive on time for your appointment, and that you allow enough time to speak with your child's teacher. If you are unable to attend the parent-teacher interviews, please let your child's teacher know, and they will arrange an alternative time to discuss your child's progress.

We look forward to seeing you at the parent-teacher interviews and working together to support your child's learning and development.

Safety Reminder

We ask all families to work with us in ensuring our students arrive at school and return home safely. There have been a number of safety issues recently raised by community members, staff and families. We ask all families to please remember the following -

  • Students must wear a helmet when riding a scooter or bike
  • All pedestrians must cross the road at the school crossing
  • No scooter or bikes are to be ridden inside the school yard

Please discuss these safety concerns with your children and help us to keep them all safe.

Have a great weekend!
