Structured Workplace Learning

Can you Help?

Structured Workplace Learning Student Information Session

On Tuesday 20 March, the Hume Whittlesea Local Learning and Employment Network (HWLLEN) delivered an informative presentation on Structured Workplace Learning to the Year 10 Career Focus and Year 11 VM students.

Christine (our local LLEN Coordinator) and her team discussed employer expectations, placement skills and attributes and stepped students through the SWL portal.

Students will be using this portal to find work placements linking into their VET courses, as students are required to complete 80 hours of workplace in their field of study.

Students had the chance to ask any questions regarding placement to both the LLEN and an industry professional promoting Brick and Block Careers.

Thank you to Linda O’Shea who helped to coordinate and support the workshop.

If Year 10 Career Focus or Vocational Major students have any further questions, please reach out to Linda O’Shea (Job Skills Pathways Coordinator), who can be found in the Careers Office. Click on the SWL handout for further information.
