Performing Arts

Foundation have been engaging in lots of fun singing and rhythm games this fortnight. They enjoyed shaking their egg shakers to different nursery rhymes, and while playing an energetic game called ‘Charlie Over the Ocean’.

They also participated in a ‘Teleporting’ game that transformed the classroom into different environments, such as a beach, rollercoaster and Wiggles concert.

Year 1/2 have been honing in on their listening skills in a game called ‘Sounds in the Round’, which requires students to close their eyes and identify different instruments only by their sound.

Year 3/4 and 5/6 students delved into the world of Boomwhackers.

These colourful percussion instruments produce different sounds when struck.

We played along to songs such as Bruno Mars' "Count On Me", the timeless classic "Hakuna Matata" from The Lion King and it was only fitting to cap it off with Taylor Swift’s iconic hit song "Shake It Off".

Last week, students from Years 1 to 6 took part in mastering the Macarena dance. Encourage your child to share their newly learned dance moves with a performance at home!
