Grade 5/6 News

This week students completed their poetry unit and produced some fantastic published pieces

Students will now be moving onto Persuasive Writing with a focus on healthy choices.

In Mathematics, we have been working on ‘The Learning Pit’ as a way for students to understand ‘challenge’ and perseverance.

Students have got an understanding that Learning occurs when you step out of your comfort zone.  That’s when the Learning Pit can help. It encourages and reassures learners that taking risks, asking questions, and trying new things can help them develop their abilities and deepen their understanding.

Classes and students have developed their own Learning Pit..

In Religion we are currently exploring Scripture. Students will be investigating the development of the Bible over time and examine the ways that Scripture is incorporated into personal and communal prayer.

Students will make simple connections between Scripture passages and their lives.

We congratulate and wish the best of luck to students participating in Zone Swimming at the Wangaratta Sports & Aquatic Center.

Thank you to all who were able to attend ‘Meet and Greet’ interviews, it was great having the opportunity to see how students have settled into the year.

Please contact your child’s classroom teacher to schedule a time if you were unable to attend.

Congratulations again to our wonderful senior leaders, it was lovely to acknowledge these students on Monday at our whole school assembly.
