Faith Matters

at St Francis Xavier School

Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

CLASS MASSES

This week our Year 1/2 children attended the 9:15am parish mass.  Fr Chinua informed me he was pleased with their attention and participation and very impressed with the responses to his questions about Lent.  I am always grateful to Fr Chinua for his ability to engage our children, at their level, during the mass and to connect with them when visiting our school.  The children are always delighted to see Fr Chinua and keen to chat with him about what they've been doing.

Our next mass is on Thursday the 21st March and will be attended by the 5/6 classes.  Unfortunately we have had to cancel our Year 3/4 mass on the last day of school but there will be a 3/4 mass in Term 2.

HOLY WEEK 2024

Prior to the Easter break we always provide the children with an opportunity to reflect on the events of Holy Week.  Our aim is to offer a different experience each year and this year we are running a morning of rotations during which the children will move in mixed age groups to different rooms and participate in activities.

During Art the classes have been utilising a variety of skills and techniques to create a Holy Week scene. Here are some beautiful examples from Year 1/2. The art works will be coming home soon to help you celebrate Easter.
