Literacy

Over the past fortnight, we have been learning to persuade. Students have enjoyed looking at different topics, where they then come up with arguments for or against the topic. We have been using lots of persuasive techniques to strengthen our arguments in order to persuade our reader.

Maths

Over the past fortnight students have been learning a new maths games called 31! They work in pairs with cards and they take it in turns to flip them over. They add them together as we go and the aim is to get to 31! If you have a deck of cards at home we would love to see you playing a game at home together 😊

Community Street Art Walk

On Tuesday the 5th of March, we engaged in a community street art walk around Frankston. As you can see in the images below, we viewed some fantastic street art. This walk is linked with our inquiry unit, where we will be discussing social justice issues.

Parliamentary Zoom meeting

Lexi - Here are some things that happened at the parliament meeting and my favorite part.

We were talking with a parlement teacher who talked with every class at some point in the day to discuss the parliament.

Onto the actual meeting we talked about the two parliament houses and what they do. The second house is the only house in all of Australia that has red exit signs.

Reece & Gabriel - In the zoom we learnt that they have the only red exit signs in Australia. We also learnt that the Senate has a seat for the leader of the Monarch. The house of representatives is a gum tree green but the senate is a red ochre colour.

Buddy Time

Our Year 6s spent some time last week with their Prep buddies. They were practising their oral language skills and interviewing them to find out a little more about them. They then drew a portrait of the preps. They are going to continue to put the information together and then their finished products will be displayed in the Red Centre.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Miss Ash & Miss Georgia
