Fire Fighter Education

We had two special visits from our local Fire Fighters for the Foundation Classes. As part of our Integrated topic of 'Our Community' this term, we were keen to listen and learn from important people with our own community.

The first session we learnt about fire safety. We looked at good fires and bad fires in situations where the students may be involved, for example a camp fire. We then went on to learn about how to be safe if there was a fire in your house. Listen to the fire detectors, have a safe meeting place with your family ready, and get down low and go, go, go!!

Our second session we got to explore the Fire Fighter's Fire Truck. There is so many important tools and gadgets in the truck to help put out fires and conduct rescues. We got to sit in the fire truck and also spray the gigantic hose!
