Food Drive for the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal

 

As the cold months of winter approach, we invite our school community to support our Social Justice initiative by donating to the St Vincent de Paul Society’s Winter Appeal. 

 

We invite all the students in our school to donate some food items from the suggestions below:

  • pasta

  • pasta sauce

  • rice

  • lentils

  • chickpeas

  • canned tuna 

  • canned vegetables 

  • canned fruit

  • cans and packets of soup

  • noodles

  • baked beans

  • snack foods eg. muesli bars, dried fruit, chips

  • breakfast cereals

  • Vegemite, honey, jam

  • long life milk

  • sugar

  • tea, coffee, Milo

  • biscuits: sweet/savoury

  • tooth paste

  • tooth brushes

  • soap

  • washing liquid/powder

We will place a basket for donations in each Learning Community until Wednesday, 25th June. The donated items will be collected by the local St. Vincent de Paul representative, who will ensure that the food is distributed to those in need within the local community. Please check that the cans and packets of food are not past the use-by date.

 

In supporting this cause, we are living out the Catholic Social Teachings of Human Dignity and Preferential Option for the Poor.
