Student Well-being

3/4 Community!
This term, the Year 3/4 Students have been learning the important skills to help them navigate everyday challenges and build positive relationships.
We have been focusing on 3 important areas as part of our Respectful Relationship Program. These are: Problem-Solving Skills, Communicating effectively and building resilience.
When looking at problem solving skills, the Year 3/4 students are discovering that it's normal to face problems and that there are ways to solve them. They're learning to:
Recognise when a problem arises
Think about different solutions
These strategies are helping students become more independent and confident in dealing with issues.
We have also focused on Communicating Effectively. Through our lessons, we have been teaching students how to express their feelings clearly and respectfully using "I" statements. For example:
"I feel upset when you interrupt me because I lose my train of thought.
Through role-playing, they practice these messages to better handle conflicts and strengthen friendships.
And lastly Building Resilience - The students have been learning that setbacks are part of life and that they can bounce back from them. By developing resilience, they:
Understand that challenges help them grow
Learn to keep trying, even when things are tough
Build a positive mindset towards learning and relationships
Students have been actively engaged with the activities presented to them and have enjoyed building confidence to address issues that may arise.
