NAIDOC Week Celebrations

Our NAIDOC Day celebrations were held in Week 10 of last term, with students engaging in a variety of meaningful activities and workshops across two days. A range of engaging experiences was beautifully led by our Year 6 students during Morning Tea and Lunch. These included face painting, nature bracelets, country postcards, scratch art, painting, storytelling, message discs, and a stunning chalk art rainbow serpent that wove its way along the paths surrounding the running track.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to CARE Goondiwindi for running a fantastic Sketch Art session with the children, and to Chappy Sonia for facilitating collaborative artworks with the students.

The children also participated in workshops with local artists, including weaving with Aunty Cheryl Moggs, dancing with the Gaalaamay Dance Troupe, and story illustration with Dub Leffler. Each session was thoroughly enjoyed, providing valuable cultural learning and creative expression. Our weaving projects are still being completed, and once finished, they will be proudly displayed in the office and the library.  So watch this space!

We sincerely thank the Goondiwindi Regional Council for supporting our celebrations through RADF (Regional Arts Development Fund) funding. This generous support enabled us to purchase resources and host these enriching workshops
