To support implementation of the updated curriculum, the Department of Education in collaboration with P&Cs Queensland provided an online reading session for parents and carers to support reading at home.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent–teacher interviews are a valuable opportunity to connect, reflect and celebrate your child’s progress so far this year, including discussing Semester One report cards. These conversations help build strong partnerships between home and school, supporting each child’s learning journey.

Parent Teacher interviews will be held this term, in the School Hall on Monday and Tuesday 1st and 2nd of September. Keep an eye out in your emails or on Facebook for a booking option through the SOBS online booking system coming in the next few weeks.

Interviews can be requested with Specialist teachers as well as classroom teachers.

We look forward to seeing you and continuing to work together to help every student thrive.

Music

Instrumental Music

Our instrumental music students have been working hard to get ready for the upcoming Goondiwindi Eisteddfod. The students practised in front of a live audience this week by performing "Eye of the tiger" on Assembly.

Classroom Music

Thank you to the wonderful Music Sub-Committee for enabling the purchase of some new Classroom Music resources at the end of last term.

We were able to buy some rhythm sticks, additional Boomwhackers & storage, several new percussion instruments and a few other bits and pieces to help with playing instruments and learning how to read rhythms.

Choirs are reaching the pointy end of our rehearsals for the Eisteddfod with 2 weeks to go! Each choir has five songs so there is a lot going on! Come along to watch at the Community Centre on Wednesday 6 August if you are free. The choir program begins at 9.00am and will finish around 12.30pm. A note has gone out with all the details.

Book Week Celebration Dress Up

This term CBCA (Children's Book Council of Australia) National Book Week commences in Week 6. This year as they celebrate 80 years of children's book weeks they have the theme "Book an Adventure".

On Monday 18th August we will be dressing up as our favourite book characters, so it is time to start thinking about costumes and your favourite characters.
