Riding to School

As previously mentioned it is wonderful to see so many students being active, walking and riding either bikes or scooters to school. When riding (bikes or scooters) it is crucial that the students are wearing helmets for their own safety as well as avoiding potential fines. The helmets must fit appropriately and be securely fastened. Please reinforce this with your children, as early morning weather conditions can make the paths slippery which can lead to trickier and more dangerous conditions to ride in. Thank you for your support in keeping all of our students safe. We now have a lockable enclosure for all bikes and scooters to be placed in during the day for security purposes.

Dental Van Visit

A reminder that the Australian Dental Foundation will be visiting our school early in Term 3, from Monday 28th July - Thursday 31st July (week 2), to conduct their 'My School Dentist' program. This program is bulk billed as part of the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, therefore incurs no additional cost to families. To register for your child to participate in the program and have the initial oral examination please complete the forms that have already been sent home and return to school by Thursday 3rd July.

If you require further information regarding the program please contact the school.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week is a time of celebration across Australia, held each July to honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Our school will be celebrating NAIDOC Week in the first week of Term 3 due to it actually occurring during the first week of the July school holiday period. We are currently planning events for the first week of term, more information will be shared in future newsletters as well as through Compass.

Entries received for the Prep – Year 2 Colouring Competition and the 3-6 poetry writing competition will be sent off to ensure they arrive in Sydney by next Friday, when judging begins. Fingers crossed for all of our entrants who have returned either their colouring in sheet or their 'respect' poem which will now be posted.

The competition details are attached below in case anyone would like to complete an entry over the weekend and personally post them.

Some entries will be displayed during NAIDOC Week in some council chambers, libraries and a selection of winning entries will be displayed at Parliament House. We encourage as many students as possible to participate.
